Vintage Maduro 2013 Ships Today

The world’s first Vintage cigar was created by Macanudo more than 40 years ago to spotlight an exceptional
wrapper produced in part by Mother Nature. Today, the Vintage tradition marches on with Macanudo
Vintage Maduro 2013. The five-country blend reflects optimal climatic conditions and calls upon meticulous
curing and precise maturation techniques perfected by the artisans of Macanudo.

The 2013 growing season saw some of the highest temperatures on record in the Connecticut River Valley,
with soaring humidity and optimal rainfall that yielded an exceptionally brawny Broadleaf tobacco. Cured and
aged for an entire decade to bring forth an array of undeniably diverse notes on the palate, this singular
tobacco makes its debut in Macanudo Vintage 2013.

Ernest Gocaj who oversees the Connecticut growing operations for Macanudo said, “The growing season in
2013 was one of the best I’ve ever seen. The crop was exceptional at harvest, which meant that we had to be
obsessive when it came to monitoring the tobacco during the eight-week curing process. That’s how important
curing is. Our hard work paid off because we ultimately brought the tobacco’s very best attributes to life.”
A master blender’s assortment of tobaccos complement this exceptional wrapper to create the rich indulgence
that is Macanudo Vintage 2013. The filler is made up of Dominican Piloto Cubano from two different primings,
along with Brazilian Mata Fina and Nicaraguan Jalapa. The binder is Honduran OSA.

With an enticing aroma of cedar and earth, this indulgent smoke delivers an orchestra of nuances including
leather and earth which contrast beautifully against the backdrop of wood and espresso, setting the stage for
a memorable smoking experience.

Macanudo Vintage 2013 is shipping to retailers today and will be released in three sizes, each chosen to
enhance the superlative blend. The cigars are individually encased in cedar wrapping and are presented in
handmade, solid wood boxes that protect 20 expertly-crafted cigars, each made by artisans at General Cigar
Dominicana in Santiago, DR.

PILÓN AÑEJO RETURNS AS A FULL-TIME LINE

CAO Pilón Añejo is back by popular demand and returns as a full-time line with limited availability,
due to the intensive fermentation and finished cigar aging that gives the blend its signature depth
and character.

Senior Brand Manager Ed Lahmann said, “When CAO Pilón Añejo launched last Spring, it quickly
became apparent that we needed to make this blend more than just a one-time offering. So we took
on the labor and time intensive methods needed to ferment the tobacco and age the cigars and are
making this a full-time brand for CAO. Given the work that goes into this blend, production
quantities will be limited but the good news is that we’re able to deliver what our retailers and fans
have asked of us.”

Handcrafted in Danli, Honduras at STG’s HATSA factory, CAO Pilón Añejo relies on circular pilóns to
heighten the smoking experience and aesthetics of the cigar’s Cuban seed Ecuadorian Sumatra
wrapper. The blend is rich and savory, consisting of Nicaraguan and Dominican filler tobacco,
beneath a Honduran Habano binder. The result is a medium-to-full-bodied smoke that bears a deep,
rich color and savory notes of wood, earth and toast, with a touch of spice.

sizes listed below.

TPE 2021: New Dates, Same Location

Tobacco Media Group moving the Tobacco Plus Expo to May 2021

August 2020 – In an exceptional year of uncertainty due to COVID-19, Tobacco Media Group (TMG) is taking steps to support the Tobacco, Vapor, and Alternative Industries by moving their Tobacco Plus Expo to May 12-14, 2021.

Generally a tradeshow scheduled at the beginning of the year, TMG had been moving forward with plans for TPE 2021 in January, with most of the show floor already sold out to Exhibitors. The opportunity arose to move the show to May, and TMG recognized that the later timing would be better for the industry and the peace of mind for all who attend TPE. After careful thought, the company made the decision to move forward with the new dates.

Says Ben Stimpson, Managing Director of Tobacco Media Group, “A lot of work has already gone into the planning of a blockbuster TPE 2021, so when we were presented with the opportunity to move the show to May, we knew we needed to jump on it. It is our hope that the later timing allows the uncertainties surrounding COVID-19 to improve and gets us well out of range of the traditional winter flu season. Plus, the warmer weather of May gives us more options to safely execute the business and networking aspects of the show. We are committed to producing a successful TPE 2021 for all of our Exhibitors and Attendees and feel confident that this new timing has everyone’s best interests in mind.”

As TPE 2021 planning progresses, TMG will continue to gather safety insights and suggestions from voices within the tobacco industry and will release show details as they further fall into place. Additionally, TMG is working closely with the Las Vegas Convention Center and the Las Vegas Visitor’s Bureau to stay abreast of the latest safety guidance advisories for the city. The company will be keeping a close eye on evolving health and wellbeing protocols and will make every effort to ensure best practices are followed.

When informed of the decision to move the dates of TPE 2021, CEO of Drew Estate, Glenn Wolfson said “Drew Estate has always been a big supporter of TPE and it has been gratifying to have witnessed the tradeshow’s increased quality and impact on the entire industry. While we certainly will miss not being able to participate in the trade show at the end of January, which is designed to help create a fast start for all industry stakeholders in the new year, the decision to defer the show to May was smart, and the right thing to do. Their interest in listening to the voices of so many industry participants about the design of the 2021 show is refreshing, and the decision to change dates this far ahead of the original dates, demonstrates TMG’s commitment to true collaboration with, and respect of, the needs of both retailers and manufacturers. TPE 2021 will be held May 12-14, 2021 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. The only thing different from the original TPE 2021 plan are the dates. November 2019 – The Tobacco Media Group (TMG) is excited to announce 14-time NBA All-Star Karl Malone as the Keynote Speaker for the Tobacco Plus Expo 2020 (TPE 2020). Well-respected for his performance, talent, and many achievements on the court, including being the NBA’s 2nd all-time leading scorer, a 2-time Olympic Champion, and a 2-time NBA Most Valuable Player, Malone has brought his leadership and vision off the court and into the tobacco industry, developing a premium cigar using tobacco aged in rum barrels in collaboration with Guillermo Leon Herbert, the owner of LA Aurora. Malone has long since enjoyed relaxing with cigars, and the development process has given him a new view on the industry. This extremely rare humidor topped the charts for highest amount paid for a modern day humidor with new world DM Cigars, raising 750,000 euros. In September 2017, a 1 of 1 humidor DM made for Prince Albert II of Monaco with Daniel Marshall Cigars was put on the block and raised 75,000 Euros to benefit our global oceans.

Virtually Friends

Facebook is a platform or place to like and to share – literally. The social media giant has infiltrated the homes and pocket devices of hundreds of millions around the world and it is the Internet’s premier place for personal self-expression, creativity, politics and personality. It is a place where virtual friendships are made and relationships forged.

Several years back, while www.GreatCigarEvents.com was promoting the Annual Rocky Patel Cigar Yacht Cruise, Katya Belinsky’s abstract art, in the spirit of Dali, Picasso & Cubism, caught my attention and we became virtual “friends” on Facebook and subsequently, true friends of mutual respect because of Facebook. After finally speaking by phone after several years, I was both amazed and impressed by Katya’s life and personal story, especially her art & cigar backgrounds, so much that I felt it necessary to share it with our subscribers and social platforms – Facebook, of course!

 

 

 

Freedom and Cigars

 

Born in Russia, but raised significantly in Germany and France, Katya Belinsky was the daughter of a cigar smoking diplomat. It is because of her father that Katya began to become aware of the pleasures of cigars during the Perestroika years in Russia; the period of time we in America equate with the Reagan years – a renaissance period of sorts that brought forth a taste of peace and freedom in an oppressive communist political climate.

 

Projecting the Soul and Inner Sexiness

 

Creative since birth, Katya’s art talents were cultivated and perfected at the Art Institute in London, where she further studied her craft and developed her own personal style influenced by Art standard bearers likes like: Salvador Dali and Pablo Picasso.

Cubism has been a great influence on Katya and is well recognized in most all of her recent works.

 

Wine, Rainbows and Cigars

 

The trademarks of Katya’s art are cigars, wine, colors of the rainbow, self-portraits or otherwise, the self-expression of a free-minded, sexy female cigar smoker who is able to ignite the lust and desire in a man.

Katya’s art is colorful, vibrant, alive and sexy; projecting her soul and inner thoughts.

 

 

Harvard, Hotels, and Google

 

One of Katya’s first creative endeavors as a professional artist was painting original art for hotels.

Business-minded as well, Katya, after art school, attended and graduated with an MBA from Harvard College, where she was a very close friend of fellow countryman, Sergei Bryn, who co-founded Google. They remain close friends until this day.

Throughout her evolution as an artist, Katya further developed her palate for Cigars and loves to pair them with wine; especially wine from South Africa, which she says has a distinctive taste on account of it’s unique clay like soil and that which pairs exceptionally well with oily tobacco.

 

 

At one point in time, Katya was a part owner of a cigar company that featured her artwork on the cigar bands.

 

 

Katya’s artwork is admired the world over and she has developed a loyal and exclusive following. One doctor purchased 30 of her unique paintings and has decorated his entire medical building with them. Katya’s “graffiti” art is featured in Google’s lunchroom at Google Headquarters, where she was asked to showcase her stylings.

 

From France to South Africa: Bringing Sexy to Lake Havasu

Once married to an airline pilot while she, herself, was a stewardess, Katya once lived in Nice, France and also –  South Africa. Enamored with the beauty and charm of these exotic locales; Katya now lives in an ultra-unique, custom built house in Lake Havasu, Arizona, that is a veritable art gallery and one that boasts a 360 degree view of the lake and city; the only one of its kind.

Lake Havasu you might ask?

Why not! Katya says that she fell in love with the area and quaint little town because it reminded her of those exotic locales.

It’s not only the content of Katya’s art that is unique, it’s also the “canvas” that she uses, which is not canvas at all but rather a unique industrial material that preserves and marries the oil, acrylic and watercolors perfectly well and is sturdy, durable, yet pliable – perfect for shipping.

The Intersection of Cigars, Art and Sexuality

Katya’s art is often a self portrait or near physical imagery of herself, but always expresses female empowerment and erotica, accented by wine cocktails and of course, her love for Cigars.
